Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students Under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

CARES ACT 30-DAY REPORT

 

The CARES Act Higher Education Relief Fund provides funding to institution for emergency financial aid grants to students whose lives have been disrupted by the COVID-19. The 30-day report for THE HAIR ACADEMY is stated below for May 2020. 

THE HAIR ACADEMY acknowledges and assures that:

 

A signed Certification and Agreement was returned to the U. S. Department on April 10, 2020. THE HAIR ACADEMY has used no less that the 50% of the total of the funds received.  

 

The total amount of $30,421.00 will be provided as Emergency Financial Aid Grants to the students pursuant to the institutions Certification and Agreement. 

 

$0 in Emergency Financial Aid Grants has been distributed to students under Section 1800 (a)(1) of the CARES Act as of May 26, 2020 submission (i.e., as of the 30-day Report and every 45 days thereafter). 

 

The estimated total number of students that attend THE HAIR ACADEMY eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV the Higher Education Act of 1965, and have been deemed eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid grants to students is 40 as of 

May 26, 2020 under the Section 18004 (a)(1) of the CARES Act. 

 

As of May 26, 2020, the total number of students that have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant are 0 under Section 18004 (a)(1) of the CARES Act. 

 

The method(s) used by the institution to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants are stated below:

  • Criteria used by the school to determine eligibility:

      Only current enrolled students who are participating in courses actively and who are in good standing with their satisfactory progress or        

      recent graduates whose dates of attendance fell within the grant eligibility timelinewill be eligible to receive a grant.

  • Eligible current students will receive one (1) grant which will be disbursed in two (2) separate payments. one (1) application will be considered per student. the first half of student’s grant funds will be disbursed starting the first week of June 2020 and the second half will be disbursed starting second week of June 2020. graduates will receive a one (1) time payment starting the first week of June 2020

 

  • Eligibility Timeline:

  • Status as of February 15, 2020 and March 23, 2020

  • Status as of March 24, 2020 – June 15, 2020

 

The amount the students would receive are: 

  • (4) students who were enrolled and graduated before online distance education and whose graduation date fell within February 15, 2020 and March 23, 2020 (date online distance education was temporarily approved) will be eligible for a one (1) time payment of $200 each.

 

  • (37) all other currently enrolled students or students who graduated during or after online distance education began will be eligible for an equal amount of: $759.51 (divided into two payments as stated above). If a student has already graduated then a one (1) time payment will be made.

Department of Education has made available Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students of our institution who need financial support for their expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to Coronavirus. This application (link below) permits students to apply for these need-based grants. The Hair Academy administration will use the information you provide here to determine your eligibility for a grant and the amount for which you will be eligible. Each student will be eligible for only one (1) grant which will be disbursed in two (2) separate payments and only one (1) application will be considered per student. The first half of student’s grant funds will be disbursed starting the first week of June and the second half will be disbursed starting the first week of July.

On June 15, 2020 the remaining balance in the account was divided evenly among the remaining currently enrolled students.  This amount totaled: $453.25 per student. An increase from the first payment due to dropped students not eligible for a second payment.
